Privacy Policy

Effective date: 19 April 2026

1. Introduction

Countfield (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website at countfield.com (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our site, how we use it, and what choices you have.

By using the Service you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide

Countfield does not require account registration. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and any information you choose to include in your message. We use this only to respond to your enquiry.

2.2 Automatically collected information

When you visit the Service, our servers and third-party analytics and advertising providers may automatically collect:

  • IP address and approximate geographic location (country / region)
  • Browser type, version, and operating system
  • Referring URL and pages viewed
  • Date, time, and duration of visits
  • Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)

This information is used in aggregate to understand how visitors use the Service and to improve it. It is not used to identify you personally.

2.3 Calculator and tool inputs

All calculations performed on the Service (mortgage, tax, investment, unit conversion, etc.) are processed entirely in your browser. Input values are not transmitted to our servers and are not stored or logged.

3. Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the Service and to deliver personalised advertising. Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser.

Types of cookies we use

  • Strictly necessary cookies — required for the Service to function (e.g. theme preference). These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors interact with the Service (page views, session duration, referral source). We use Google Analytics for this purpose. Data is aggregated and anonymised.
  • Advertising cookies — placed by Google AdSense to show relevant ads based on your browsing interests. These cookies may track your activity across websites that use Google advertising services.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling advertising cookies will not remove ads but may make them less relevant to you. See Google’s Ad Settings to opt out of personalised advertising.

4. Advertising

Countfield uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to our website or other websites. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com.

For more information on how Google uses data collected through partner sites, see: How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymised usage statistics. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device to help us understand how visitors use the Service. The data collected includes pages visited, session length, and geographic region. Google Analytics data is processed by Google in accordance with their privacy policy.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate and maintain the Service
  • Monitor and analyse usage to improve the Service’s content, performance, and user experience
  • Display relevant advertisements through Google AdSense
  • Respond to enquiries or support requests
  • Detect and prevent technical issues, fraud, or abuse

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not build individual user profiles for advertising purposes — that is handled solely by Google’s advertising infrastructure under their own privacy policy.

7. Data Retention

Server access logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and diagnostic purposes, after which they are deleted. Contact-related emails are retained until the enquiry is resolved, after which they may be deleted. Analytics data is retained in accordance with Google’s data retention settings, which we have configured to 14 months.

8. Third-Party Links

The Service includes links to third-party websites, AI tools, and software products. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the privacy practices of any third-party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@countfield.com and we will take steps to remove that information.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you. Because we collect minimal personal information (primarily through third-party analytics and advertising providers), most data subject requests should be directed to Google.

For any queries about data we hold directly (e.g. email correspondence), contact us at support@countfield.com.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
